Building Community Archives: The Utah COVID-19 Digital Collection

April 14, 2021 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

A discussion with Anna Neatrour and Jeremy Myntti of the University of Utah’s J. Willard Marriott Digital Library, who will speak to metadata dynamics in relation to the real time collection of new digital-born materials and how they are moved through the archival process, through the lens of the Utah COVID-19 Digital Collection.

This workshop will use the Utah COVID-19 Digital Collection (a community contributed ‘born digital’ collection) as a case study to provide an introduction to digital libraries and descriptive metadata creation. Considerations and challenges for working with user submitted materials will be covered, with plenty of time for questions.

If you work with any projects that storygather or memorygather, this will be a discussion you will want to be a part of. As always please feel free to invite anyone you would like to be part of the conversation.

Event registration through Eventbrite. This is a Free event.
